I only live in Holiday Inn Seattle Downtown - Lake Union for just four days, but I have received a good service. The room cleaning is very tidy and the front desk is very friendly and effective. The breakfast is always tastes good. Thank you for your service to let me have a good time in Seattle.

Failure to investigate on site Vandalism and theft!

Unfortunately, I was the victim of vehicle vandalism the morning of departure. We place a few items in the trunk of the car, went up to have a quick breakfast, returned to the car 20 minutes later to find the back drivers side passenger window smashed in and the items placed in the trunk were stolen from the back seat pass through. I approached the front desk and they said it was not their responsibility! Total loss: damage and theft $9500.00 IHG took no responsibility for the loss and said it was hotel policy not to investigate such matters. This was criminal behaviour! I contacted and documented the vandalism with Seattle Police. Seattle police believed this location was being cased, due to the short period of time in which the incident took place. I contacted IHG customer service that directed this locations Assistant Manager to respond with ‘ we have security cameras, on site security personnel, and signage’. Unfortunately, no security personnel were available on site at the time of the incident, and they did not offer to review their security camera footage. After several email dialogues, IHG was to raise this with higher management, but no response was provided 5 months after the incident. The policy at IHG is to avoid on site vandalism, criminal behaviour, is solely their own, as a similar event at a competitor hotel was responded to and resolved in a timely manner. I highly recommend that no one stay at this hotel because of the following: 1. They do not have secured elevators, anyone can access the interior of the hotel, including the underground parkade, commit a crime, and leave without intervention. 2. Staff lack professional training, did not attempt to ascertain any details of this incident, call management, or on site security, and no follow-up. 3. Failure by upper management to respond to my inquiries is indicative of a complete lack of attention to customer service, customer safety, and corporate responsibilities. Meh Hotel in a Lousy Location

I was rebooked here after Staybridge had a flood or something. This hotel is ok. Not great. But the location drags down the rating. If you do not have a car, this is a bad location. The area is fairly quiet, but requires too much walking to get to public transit. There are some bus stops on Westlake, or closer to Space Needle, and the area closer to Space Needle doesn't feel safe. There is no public transit to Space Needle, so expect a half mile walk to get there which is miserable when it's cold and raining. Pretty much every road around this hotel is closed for construction. I was woken up around 7am to jackhammering from the construction. The restaurant attached to the hotel is always empty, so we know what that means. You will need get out of this neighborhood, or go to Space Needle/The Armory to find a decent restaurant. The bed was comfortable. The AC/heater didn't work properly though. It was either too cold or too hot. The wifi worked fine. The desk was bizarre and not really functional. The whole atmosphere was very reminiscent of 1980s hotel. Hallways are dimly lit. Just wasn't my vibe. There is a coke machine that charges $1.75 and allows you to make two selections... you think it's a mistake, but then they charge you $3.50. My stay was comped, but I would never pay to stay here. The location is bad (unless I had a car and was willing to pay for parking), and not enough is offered for the price. To not get to stay at the hotel I wanted, and then get downgraded to this property was extremely disappointing.

We were in town for a three-night vacation. This hotel was a great value for the area. The staff was exceptionally great. Every single staff member we encountered gave superb and friendly service. Our room was as described, spacious, clean, and quite comfortable. Every site you could want to visit in Seattle was easily accessible by a walk (it is steep in some parts) or a quick cab ride. Yes, there are sketchy areas and people in Seattle. You are going to find that in every part of this city. Yes, the hotel could probably use a little updating. I stand by my opinion that this is one of the best value stays in the area. We did not patronize the attached restaurant at all, but there are many restaurants within walking distance. There is a guest laundry room on the 4th floor where we stayed. I am not sure if there is one on each floor. The front desk has laundry supplies and the machines take credit cards. We would definitely stay again.

The location is great, walking distance to the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass, and more. Service left a lot to be desired. I was there for 6 nights and my room was not cleaned even once. No toilet tissue or new towels without having to go to the front desk. It was not brought up to the room. I ended up leaving the trash can outside the room each day in the hopes that it would be emptied.
